As a photographer, I’m always used to being behind the camera, but for this specific series, I wanted to be in front of the camera and be the subject of interest. The story that I wanted to portray is deeply personal. I have alopecia totalis, an autoimmune disease that I’ve been dealing with since I was 11 years old. For me, putting on a wig feels as natural as putting on a pair of pants, but most people have no idea what goes on behind closed doors. With these images I want to show the real and raw process behind my daily appearance.
