‘‘Endometriosis, a chronic condition, shared by many people assigned female at birth, yet still widely misunderstood and often unseen. Pain returns without warning. Energy levels crash. Endless GP visits, referrals, waiting rooms and quiet anxieties about new symptoms appearing. Plans are cancelled and explanations become repetitive to not only doctors, but also to friends, family and even myself.’’
These are the words of Inge Oudheusden, my best friend and model for this project, who suffers from this awful condition.

In this series, Inge’s fears and experiences are shown through the lens of surrealism, since nothing seems to make sense anymore when you have to deal with the repercussions of endometriosis on a daily basis. With this project, Inge and I want to raise more awareness about endometriosis and women’s health.
