Spring By Night

This project was made as an assignment for the Fotovakschool. I had to create 3 conceptual postcards using flash photography. The idea was that the cards could be used as promotional material for a company or organisation. I was very inspired by the postcards that I often saw at cultural organisations such as museums or art galleries, which are often known for their striking graphic design.

This is how I came up with the idea to create this series, where I show the beauty of spring flowers at night. We are so used to seeing photos of flowers during the day, but the darkness adds an extra element of mystique. This could be an idea for an event at the Hortus Botanicus Amsterdam, where I imagine visitors going on an evening walk among the spring flowers there. I had so much fun creating this project that I am now extending it to summer flowers.
