The prompt for this project during my course at the Fotovakschool was to create 3 studio portraits of people with a unique look or clothing style. The examples that were given were a bit stereotypical in my opinion. I thought about people that I would like to ask to participate and landed on people who live their life from a spiritual mindset. What I realized is that all of them also happen to be artists. This is how ‘‘the art(ist)’’ was born. I wanted to showcase their lifestyle through their clothing and accessories, but also showcase their art. By combining the earth tones and the sky, it symbolizes that this way of life comes naturally to them.
